MUSCAT : His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Sunday issued Royal Decree No. 30/2026 approving the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of India, formalising a trade pact finalised during the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Muscat.
The decree ratifies the agreement concluded between the Government of Oman and the Government of India, paving the way for its implementation in accordance with constitutional procedures.
The CEPA was finalised during Modi’s official visit to Oman in December, where both sides agreed to deepen economic cooperation, expand trade and investment flows, and strengthen strategic ties between the two countries.

India is among Oman’s largest trading partners, with strong links spanning energy, infrastructure, food security and expatriate workforce ties. The ratification marks a significant step in institutionalising economic cooperation between the two nations.
