MUSCAT : The ministry advised workers not to hand over their identity cards or share personal information with an establishment unless they have an actual employment relationship with it.

It also warned against fictitious employment arrangements or being registered with an establishment without actually starting work, stressing that workers should verify that they begin employment with any establishment under which they are registered.

The ministry urged individuals not to allow their employment information to be used without their knowledge or consent, highlighting the importance of safeguarding personal data to protect workers’ careers and future employment rights.

Workers were also encouraged to ensure that their employment records accurately reflect their actual employment status and to take responsibility for protecting their information from misuse.
