CPA seizes 1,668 soft drinks, 177 expired juice cans in Oman

Oman’s Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has taken action against a commercial establishment after inspectors seized 1,668 soft drink cans carrying conflicting product labels and dates, along with 177 expired juice cans.

MUSCAT : The Consumer Protection Department said the inspection uncovered 1,668 soft drink cans bearing two different product labels with conflicting dates, in violation of laws and regulations governing the circulation of food products.

The products were subsequently confiscated, while the violations were officially documented and necessary legal action was initiated against the establishment.

Inspectors also discovered 177 expired juice cans, which were destroyed as part of measures to safeguard consumer health.

In total, the enforcement action involved 1,845 cans of soft drinks and juice.
