MUSCAT : This comes as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance youth contribution to community service and hone their skills in innovation and volunteer work, in line with the directives of Oman Vision 2040.
The competition targets Rovers and Rangers from higher education institutions, youth and sports clubs, and Omani women’s associations, encouraging them to present impactful projects that promote national identity, citizenship values, and contribute to sustainable development.

This year’s competition is structured around two key themes: Community Service and Innovation
Projects will be evaluated based on clear criteria, including the clarity and feasibility of the idea, its alignment with community needs, and its sustainability and impact on target groups.
Areas of participation include scientific and technological innovation in the environmental, health, and social sectors, as well as development initiatives in the areas of health, education, the environment, and other priority areas for society.
According to the timeline, applications will be accepted from this September until October. Qualified projects will undergo field visits and technical consultations between November and February 2026, followed by a final evaluation phase from April to June 2026, leading up to the announcement of the results in July of the same year.
The Directorate clarified that each clan may submit only one project, which must be innovative, practical, and well-documented through photos, reports, and supporting evidence. Submitted projects will undergo a thorough review by a specialized evaluation committee.
Emphasising the importance of the initiative, the Directorate stated that the competition serves as a national platform to empower young people, strengthen their role in addressing societal issues, and foster a culture of teamwork. It also reflects the Scout and Guide movement’s commitment to building strategic partnerships with public and private institutions in support of Oman’s broader development goals.
