MUSCAT : The event is organized by the National Records and Archives Authority in collaboration with the Wathiqat Wattan Foundation from the Syrian Arab Republic.
To be held from September 23 to 25, the conference will focus on cultural memory of origins and the import of deepening the vision over time.


This event brings together participants from various Arab and international documentation institutions, providing a platform to discuss critical issues surrounding oral history in the Arab world. Key objectives of the conference include examining the challenges faced by oral history in Arab societies, enhancing awareness of the significance of oral documents, and exploring external experiences related to oral history.
The conference focuses on three main axes: theoretical, scientific, and future. The theoretical axis explores the concept of oral history in Arab societies, while the scientific axis examines regional and international experiences. The future axis discusses the potential for developing oral history in the Arab context.
Throughout the event, participants will delve into the complexities and challenges of oral history in Arab societies, emphasizing the importance of oral documentation in contemporary historical narratives. Additionally, discussions will centre on potential collaborations, specialized projects, and the integration of oral history methodologies into educational curricula.
The conference aims to foster cooperation among Arab countries and enhance the collective understanding of oral history’s role in preserving cultural heritage.
