Muscat – Underscoring the significance of this investment, Dr. Hashel bin Obaid Al Mahrouqi, CEO of Omran Group, said, “The Group’s success is represented in attracting approximately two billion US dollars in foreign investments to finance the most important strategic tourism projects.”
He stressed the importance of the role played by the National Travel Operator platform to promote local tourism products and experiences and link them to the target markets, he pointed out that the move aims to enhance the growth of inbound tourism.

Further, pointing out that that the Group’s investment plans are commensurate with its ongoing ventures to develop the tourism sector, the CEO said: “This comes as a continuation of the group’s tireless efforts to develop the infrastructure of the tourism sector by developing sustainable tourism destinations and assets to contribute to achieving economic growth and diversifying sources of income.”
Highlighting the Group’s participation in the ITB 2024, he noted that the key objective was to promote its current and future projects and available investment opportunities, in addition to underscoring tourism components of Oman and attracting more tourists and investors. As per statistics, Oman’s tourism sector witnessed 38 percent growth during 2023.
