Muscat: On August 22nd 2023, Indian School Bousher reached a significant milestone as it proudly hosted its Annual Academic Award Ceremony for the Academic Years 2021 – 2022 and 2022-2023.
The occasion was graced by the Chief Guest Dr. Sivakumar Manickam, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman and the Guest of Honour, Ms Ashwini Sawrikar, Finance Director, Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman.
The ceremony commenced formally with a warm welcome address by our school captain, Master Ethan Noronha.

The atmosphere was further illuminated by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, followed by a soulful prayer that set a positive tone for the entire event. Mr. Rakesh Singh Tomar, Principal, Indian School Bousher took a reflective journey through the profile of the Academic Awards.
During the ceremony, the AISSE toppers, as well as the subject toppers, who showcased outstanding performance were honoured. The toppers and the educators who produced a perfect score of 100 were felicitated by Dr. Sivakumar Manickam. The pinnacle of achievement at Indian School Bousher, the “Bousherian Pride,” was bestowed upon recipients who excelled in academics, sports, culture, and literature. Dr. Sivakumar Manickam and Ms Ashwini Sawrikar graciously conferred this honour upon students from grades II to XII.
Mr. Shanmugam Purushothaman, President of the School Management Committee, extended tokens of gratitude to the Chief guest and Guest of Honour. Following the felicitation, Ms. Ashwini Sawrikar shared her inspirational insights. She emphasized that behind every successful student lies an entire system working tirelessly.
After her address, there was a seamless transition to the Academic Excellence Awards segment, which recognized top scorers across various grades. This recognition was bestowed upon students from grade II to grade IX, highlighting their exceptional academic achievements. The awards were given by Mr. Shanmugam Purushothaman, President, SMC. He delivered an impactful address, highlighting that kindness paves the way for enduring achievements and that excellence is not a destination but an ongoing journey.
His address was followed by the school troupe’s dance performance on the theme of “The Missile Man of India,” which was a breathtaking spectacle. Treasurer Mr. Sajesh Nittoor, Convenor Mr. Raja Jayabalan, Dr. Vinod Kumar and Dr. Sayed Fazlur Rehman conferred the next set of Academic Excellence Awards to the students.
The school choir delivered a soul-stirring rendition of a motivational song, encouraging all to be passionate, determined, and resilient. The event reached its culmination with Ms. Ambika Padmanabhan, Vice Principal, expressing her heartfelt gratitude to the dignitaries, parents, and the entire ISB family. The Academic Award Ceremony at Indian School Bousher concluded as a grand success, serving as a platform to celebrate the intellectual achievements of the proud Bousherians!
