The recommendation comes from the Supreme Committee appointed by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
There are now total 19 cases reported in the country so far.
Oman Air has suspended all flights to and from Kuwait in an attempt to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The committee has also advised citizens and residents to avoid going to cinema halls and gatherings.
The meeting headed by His Excellency Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidy, Minister of Interior has also taken several preventive measures.
Minister of Health says there are no immediate plans to suspend classes.
Oman has confirmed 18 cases and it shows the efficiency of the country’s health system to prevent the spread of the virus.
