MUSCAT: His Excellency Eng. Saeed Al-Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, has confirmed that four petrol stations will be opened soon, specifically on the Al Batinah Expressway. These petrol stations will have connections to the entrances leading to them.
For his part, His Excellency Khamis bin Mohammed Al Shamkhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Transport, has stressed that there are approximately 17,000 km of unpaved roads, compared to 16,000 km of paved roads in the Sultanate of Oman, so it is necessary to work on strategic investment opportunities.
Regarding the railway, he explained that it is a new investment initiative, which is a logistical path linking Sohar – Khazaen, and the other path will link the Sultanate of Oman with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which was previously announced.
