MUSCAT: Oman’s Coast Guard Police have arrested six Yemeni nationals in Dhofar Governorate for allegedly attempting to enter the country illegally and smuggle large quantities of tobacco products, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) said on Monday.
The Coast Guard Police unit in Dhofar intercepted a boat carrying the six suspects as they attempted to enter Oman through an unauthorised route, according to an ROP statement.
Police said large quantities of prohibited tobacco derivatives were also found aboard the vessel.

Legal procedures against the suspects are being completed, the ROP added.
