MUSCAT: The municipality said sewage leaks, even when they appear to be minor problems, can have wider health and environmental consequences.
According to the municipality, sewage leaks can affect the cleanliness and appearance of public spaces, create breeding grounds for insects and rodents, and produce foul odours.
They can also contribute to soil and water pollution and the spread of pollutants and disease-causing pathogens, increasing potential risks to public health and the surrounding environment.
