MUSCAT : Major General Sulaiman bin Ali Al-Husseini, Head of the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority and Head of the Hazardous Materials Handling Sector at the National Emergency Management Committee, joined Dr. Abdullah bin Ali Al-Amri, Chairman of the Environment Authority, during the inspection.
The visit focused on assessing the latest developments on the ground and reviewing the measures being taken to deal with the effects of the oil pollution.
Officials also examined the progress of field operations aimed at ensuring a rapid response and effective coordination among the authorities involved.

The ongoing efforts are being carried out through cooperation between the concerned agencies under the umbrella of the National Emergency Management Committee.
Authorities are continuing to monitor the affected coastal areas and implement necessary measures to limit the impact of the pollution, safeguard the marine and coastal environment, and protect beaches in the Ras Madrakah area.
