MUSCAT : The requirements, outlined by the Oman Maritime Security Centre, also require foreign vessels to refrain from stopping except after completing procedures at a maritime port and to comply with their licensed positions and applicable maritime laws.
Under the regulations, foreign ships and maritime units must also:
• Enter protected or restricted areas only after obtaining official approval.
• Declare weapons and ammunition and obtain the required licences.
• Refrain from photographing public and private properties.
• Maintain continuous operation of the AIS while in Omani territorial waters.
The requirements are based on Article 10 of Ministerial Decision No. 30/2026, issued by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology concerning the regulation governing the operation of foreign ships and maritime units in Oman’s territorial sea.
