MUSCAT – In a travel advisory issued in cooperation with the Directorate General of Customs, the Passport Office of the Royal Oman Police and other relevant authorities, travellers were advised not to accept or carry bags or luggage on behalf of unknown individuals or exchange luggage with others without first verifying its contents.
The advisory also called on passengers not to conceal cash or valuables and to declare them if they meet the required disclosure threshold. Travellers were urged to carry proof of the legal ownership or origin of any goods in their possession.
Oman Customs further advised passengers to comply with instructions issued by airlines and shipping companies, familiarise themselves with the laws and customs regulations of their destination countries, and follow the directions of customs officers at airports.

The advisory also encouraged travellers to report any prohibited or restricted items being carried by other passengers.
