MUSCAT : The programme was inaugurated under the patronage of His Excellency Engineer Naif bin Ali Al Abri, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority.
Targeting students from grades 9 to 11, the DroneX programme combines theoretical learning with practical training to enhance technical capabilities, encourage innovation, and promote awareness of the safe and responsible use of drones.

The programme features three specialised training tracks covering drone operations and flight, technical maintenance, and the manufacturing, assembly and operation of First Person View (FPV) aircraft. These courses are designed to provide participants with practical skills aligned with industry best practices.
The initiative reflects CAA’s efforts to develop national talent, encourage interest in emerging technologies, and support the growth of a knowledge-based economy in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
The programme is being conducted in two training groups at the Civil Aviation Authority building during evening sessions. The first group will run from July 12 to 23, while the second group is scheduled from August 2 to 13, 2026.
The opening ceremony included an introduction to the programme and its training tracks, along with a live drone demonstration. The programme will conclude with a ceremony on August 17, 2026, to honour participants, sponsors and supporters.
