Muscat: The newly documented site features a collection of rare rock inscriptions and drawings dating back to ancient historical periods. According to the ministry, the site includes a main rock covered with engravings created using the rock pecking technique, showcasing animal figures, human forms, and geometric symbols.
Officials said the inscriptions provide insight into the symbolic expression of ancient Omanis and their relationship with the surrounding natural environment across different eras. The engravings are considered an important visual record reflecting aspects of early human life and environmental patterns that existed during those periods.
Authorities are currently carrying out further archaeological and technical studies related to the site while implementing measures to safeguard and enhance its historical and tourism value.
