MUSCAT : Madhavan P.V. (Madhavettan), former Arts Secretary of the Kerala Wing of the Indian Social Club Oman and a familiar presence in the Sultanate’s arts and cultural circles, has passed away. He died in Kerala.
Hailing from Payyannur in Kerala, Madhavan was actively involved in the Kerala Wing’s arts and cultural activities for several years and played an important role in bringing together artists, theatre practitioners and cultural enthusiasts within Oman’s expatriate community.
Theatre was at the heart of his cultural engagement. During his tenure as Arts Secretary, he was closely involved in organising and promoting theatre and other cultural programmes, contributing significantly to the growth of the expatriate cultural movement in Oman.

Beyond his organisational roles, Madhavan was known for his ability to bring artists and cultural workers together. His warm personality, friendly interactions and deep commitment to the arts made him a respected and much-loved figure among colleagues, friends and the wider community.
The Kerala Wing of the Indian Social Club Oman expressed profound grief over his death and extended its heartfelt condolences to his family, relatives and friends.
His passing marks the loss of a dedicated cultural activist who left a lasting imprint on Oman’s expatriate arts and theatre community.
