MUSCAT : The inauguration signals a new phase in PDO’s institutional transformation strategy and reflects Oman’s continued focus on adopting advanced technologies and operational integration in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 and Fourth Industrial Revolution standards.
PDO described the “Bait Al-Haitham” facility as one of the world’s leading integrated operations centres, bringing together the remote monitoring and management of the company’s oil, gas, energy and export terminal assets within a unified operational environment.







The centre is designed to enhance decision-making, operational efficiency and reliability, while strengthening safety standards through real-time coordination across PDO’s operational assets.
According to the company, the facility remotely manages a vast operational network that includes 227 producing oil fields, 39 gas fields, 29 main production stations, 15 power generation stations with a combined capacity of up to 1,400 megawatts, and more than 13,000 active wells connected through integrated pipeline and transport networks.
PDO said the project supports its long-term goals of improving operational flexibility, strengthening resource management and reinforcing Oman’s position as a leading energy producer.
The company added that the project also focuses on workforce development and operational excellence, with the centre currently employing 279 staff and achieving an Omanisation rate of 95 per cent.
Aflah bin Said Al Hadhrami, Managing Director of PDO, described the royal visit as a significant national milestone in the company’s transformation journey under the slogan “For Oman”.
Speaking to the Oman News Agency, he said the opening of the “Bait Al-Haitham” project reflects continued royal support for the energy sector and confirms that innovation, operational excellence and digital transformation remain central to Oman’s sustainable development ambitions.
He added that the visit represented a source of pride and motivation for the company’s employees, particularly Omani talent leading PDO’s future development.
PDO also highlighted a series of operational and economic achievements in 2025, including recording its highest oil production levels since 2002 and achieving an Omanisation rate of 92.7 per cent across the company.
In the area of occupational safety, PDO said it completed 10 consecutive years without lost-time injuries in exploration operations. The company also reported a 15 per cent decline in lost-time injuries compared with 2024, a 40 percent reduction in vehicle accidents, and an 85 percent drop in major operational incidents compared with 2020.
The company is currently piloting 30 major technology initiatives focused on areas including water and energy management, enhanced oil recovery, artificial lift systems and production measurement, while implementing 22 additional technologies to improve operational efficiency.
PDO said it retained nearly RO1 billion of its supply chain spending within Oman, including RO 350 million allocated to SMEs and local community companies, while directing RO 273 million towards locally manufactured products. The company also created 2,552 job opportunities for Omanis through its local content programme.
In the field of corporate social responsibility, PDO completed around 25 projects worth nearly RO 3.5 million in 2025 and committed to implementing 45 additional initiatives. It also renewed a RO 2 million scholarship programme supporting 150 students from concession areas.
The company further announced that it had become the first entity in Oman and the first oil and gas company in the Middle East to obtain ISO 20121 certification for Sustainable Event Management, reflecting its commitment to sustainability and low-carbon operational practices.
