Hosting the milestone event in Dhofar also highlights the governorate’s rich historical and cultural legacy and its longstanding role as a centre of interaction and cultural exchange between the peoples of the region.
According to the Ministry, the forum reflects the importance of historical and archaeological research in deepening knowledge of the Gulf’s shared history and cultural heritage.
History, archaeology and heritage remain key components of the cultural identity of GCC societies, while initiatives such as the forum also aim to strengthen cooperation, cultural rapprochement and joint Gulf action.
