Oman’s RO 6 million Automobile City Project in Salalah reaches 45% completion

The Wilayat of Salalah is currently witnessing the implementation of the Automobile City project, scheduled to be a destination for the automobile sector and related services in the Governorate of Dhofar.

MUSCAT : The project is being set up on an area of 53,000 square metres. The cost of the first phase is RO 6 million. It includes the stage of construction and development of infrastructure.

The project is being implemented by “Al Amal Al Daem International Company” in partnership with Dhofar Municipality. It covers various activities and facilities, including automobile showrooms, car agencies, maintenance centres, finance and insurance companies, banks and centres for supporting commercial services.



Faisal bin Alawi Al Dheeb, Managing Director of Al Amal Al Daem International Company, said that the project has achieved a progress rate of 45 percent. He added that the first phase is expected to be completed in May 2027.

Al Dheeb told the Oman News Agency that the project aims to serve as an integrated destination for the automotive sector and to bring together all customer needs in one place.

He explained that the wilayat of Salalah has been chosen as a destination for the project due to its diverse economic, demographic and tourism assets available in the Governorate of Dhofar, noting that Khareef Dhofar (monsoon) season sees high demand for car services.

Al Dheeb announced the start of booking of rental spaces for local and international companies wishing to establish businesses in the Automobile City in Salalah. He pointed out that the project is set to have a positive impact on a number of related sectors like contracting, supply services, technical services, construction, operation, employment, logistics, hospitality and marketing.
