MUSCAT : The Municipality has urged vendors to review the conditions and complete registration through an online link provided by the authority, ahead of the seasonal markets.

Under the new guidelines, all sellers are required to provide a 3×3-metre umbrella in a unified blue colour, while selling on the ground without an umbrella is strictly prohibited. Expatriate sellers must also carry a valid labour card to participate.

The Municipality clarified that it will not be responsible for any loss of goods during the Habta period. It also prohibited the entry of street vendor carts into designated market sites.

Livestock-related activities are subject to specific controls, with owners required to remain within designated areas and prohibited from displaying animals on public roads or outside the Habta locations. Auctioning is restricted to local goats, cows, and camels only, with other categories not permitted.

Additionally, all sellers must prepare their designated sites at least five days before the start of the Habta.

The Municipality said the measures are part of efforts to regulate seasonal markets and ensure smooth commercial activity during Eid, while maintaining public order and safety.

Vendors are encouraged to complete registration through the official link provided by the Municipality ahead of the Eid period.
