His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has issued four Royal Decrees declaring key flood protection dam projects across multiple governorates as public utility ventures.

MUSCAT : The Royal Decrees, numbered 51/2026 to 54/2026, focus on accelerating the development of flood protection dams in strategically significant areas across the Sultanate, reinforcing Oman’s commitment to disaster preparedness and sustainable infrastructure.

Under Royal Decree No. 51/2026, the Flood Protection Dam Project in Wadi Majlas, located in Wilayat Quriyat within the Muscat Governorate, has been officially designated as a project of public utility.

Royal Decree No. 52/2026 extends the same designation to the Flood Protection Dam Project in the Niyabat of Lima, part of Wilayat Khasab in the Musandam Governorate.

Meanwhile, Royal Decree No. 53/2026 declares the Flood Protection Dam Project in the Niyabat of Samad Al-Sha’an in Wilayat Al-Mudhaibi, North Al-Sharqiyah Governorate, as a public utility project, further expanding protective infrastructure in inland regions.

Additionally, Royal Decree No. 54/2026 covers the Flood Protection Dam Project in Wadi Bani Omar Al-Gharbi in Wilayat Liwa, North Al-Batinah Governorate, highlighting continued efforts to mitigate flood risks in coastal and industrial zones.
