MUSCAT : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed upcoming Class X and Class XII board examinations scheduled this week across several Gulf countries, according to an official circular dated March 3, 2026.
The announcement, shared by the Embassy of India, Muscat, applies to CBSE-affiliated schools in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Examinations that were scheduled to be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, and Friday, March 6, 2026, for both Class X and Class XII students have been postponed. Fresh dates for the affected papers will be announced at a later stage.

In its communication, the Board said it will review the prevailing situation on Thursday, March 5, and take a decision regarding examinations scheduled from March 7 onwards.
Students have been advised to remain in regular contact with their respective schools, follow only official announcements issued by CBSE, and avoid relying on unofficial sources or rumours.
The circular comes amid heightened regional tensions affecting parts of the GCC, prompting precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of students appearing for the crucial board examinations.
The Embassy of India in Muscat reiterated that the update is based on the official CBSE circular issued on March 3, 2026.
