MUSCAT : A commercial establishment operating in the contracting and decoration sector in Muscat Governorate has been convicted of failing to deliver services as agreed after not completing a door installation project within the contracted timeframe.
According to the CPA, the case involved a consumer who contracted the company to manufacture and install 15 doors for a total value of RO 815, which was paid in full. Under the agreement, the work was to be completed within two months, but the establishment failed to fulfil its contractual obligations.
The competent court convicted the establishment’s representatives for failing to provide the agreed service in accordance with the contract and its intended nature.
The court imposed a fine of RO 200 on each of the convicted representatives, in addition to ordering them to pay legal expenses. It also ordered the liquidator to replace the third accused, deported the first expatriate accused, and referred the consumer’s civil claim to the competent judicial circuit for further proceedings.
