MUSCAT – India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will visit Oman this week for high-level talks aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and discussing regional developments, as part of a broader tour of Gulf countries.

MUSCAT: India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will undertake an official visit to Oman between July 5 and 10, during which he is expected to hold discussions with Omani leadership and senior government officials on enhancing cooperation across key sectors and exchanging views on regional and international issues.

According to India’s Ministry of External Affairs, the visit will focus on further deepening the longstanding strategic partnership between India and Oman, one of New Delhi’s closest partners in the Gulf region. The discussions are also expected to cover matters of mutual interest, including economic cooperation, trade, investment and regional security developments.

Jaishankar’s visit to Oman forms part of a wider Gulf tour that will also take him to Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait from July 5 to 10. The ministry said the engagements across the four countries will provide an opportunity to strengthen bilateral ties and review cooperation in various sectors.

Following the Gulf tour, Jaishankar will travel to New York on July 13 to launch India’s official campaign for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the 2028-29 term.

He will then proceed to Brussels on July 14-15 to participate in the third India-European Union Trade and Technology Council meeting and hold discussions with European Union and Belgian counterparts.
