MUSCAT : Speaking at the outset, His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi said the Omani-Saudi Coordination Council represents the principal framework for anticipating, coordinating and monitoring joint initiatives and programmes, aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership and achieving integration across multiple sectors. He highlighted the qualitative progress in bilateral relations since the first session of the Council, particularly in economic integration, intra-regional trade and joint investments, alongside expanded cooperation in security, judicial, cultural and tourism fields. He also underscored the importance of continued political consultation on regional and international issues of shared interest.
His Excellency praised the sustained efforts of the Council’s subcommittees and Secretariat, stressing the need to maintain momentum in joint cooperation to meet the aspirations of the leadership and people of both countries.
For his part, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud described the Coordination Council as an effective platform for advancing bilateral relations and maximising the opportunities and potential available in both countries to serve their common interests. He noted that the Muscat meeting builds on the outcomes of the second session held in Al-Ula in December 2024, and emphasised the importance of closely following up on the implementation of agreed recommendations and initiatives.

Prince Faisal also pointed to the convergence of views between the two countries on bilateral, regional and international matters, highlighting progress in the fields of economy, trade, industry, energy and investment. He stressed the importance of facilitating trade exchange, stimulating investment flows and enhancing public-private sector cooperation, reflecting the growing strength of economic ties between the two nations.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed work programmes and presentations by the heads of subcommittees, expressing satisfaction with the positive and constructive results achieved. The session concluded with the signing of the official minutes of the third meeting, encompassing agreed recommendations and work plans aligned with Oman Vision 2040 and Saudi Vision 2030.
