MUSCAT : The Consumer Protection Department in Barka has reached an amicable settlement between a consumer and a ready-mix concrete supplier in South Al Batinah Governorate, securing a full refund of RO 5,520 for the consumer.

According to the Consumer Protection Authority, the complaint arose after the consumer entered into an agreement with the company for the supply of concrete worth RO 5,520.

The concrete was required to meet an agreed strength specification of 35. However, laboratory tests conducted on the supplied concrete showed that it did not conform to the agreed standard.

Following the complaint and subsequent action by the Consumer Protection Department in Barka, an amicable settlement was reached, under which the company agreed to refund the consumer the entire amount paid.
