MUSCAT : Oman’s Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has returned more than RO48,000 to consumers through amicable settlements in North and South Al Batinah, as the authority continues to strengthen consumer rights and market oversight across the Sultanate.
In its latest weekly update, the CPA said settlements reached between consumers and businesses resulted in the recovery of more than RO48,000, reflecting efforts to resolve complaints and disputes without lengthy procedures.
Enforcement activities also resulted in more than 3,000 non-compliant products and other items being seized during inspection campaigns in Nizwa, Al Dakhiliyah and North Al Sharqiyah.

The authority said it had also recognised employees who demonstrated outstanding performance in resolving consumer complaints and reports.
As part of its consumer safety efforts, the CPA issued a warning against the use of Boon infant feeding bottles.
Meanwhile, the authority continued its awareness activities, with its Barka office working alongside the Environment Authority to educate the public about the ban on plastic shopping bags.
The CPA also concluded an “Awareness and Commitment” campaign held in conjunction with the back-to-school season.
Separately, the authority is advancing its digital transformation efforts, including an introductory workshop in Ibri on the trial version of the “Mueen” platform, aimed at developing the work environment and improving services.
