MUSCAT : The projects form part of the municipality’s broader efforts to develop the road network and enhance service quality for citizens, residents and visitors, while reinforcing Dhofar’s urban and economic development pathways. The initiative also seeks to raise safety standards and ensure long-term sustainability of infrastructure.
Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed Baawain, Director General of the Directorate General of Projects and Technical Affairs at Dhofar Municipality, told the Oman News Agency that works carried out during 2025 included the maintenance of damaged internal roads in the Wilayat of Salalah under the first and second phases of implementation. He added that work is now continuing on new projects covering all wilayats of the governorate.
These include Salalah, Taqah, Mirbat, Sadah, Muqshin, Thumrait, Al Mazyunah, Rakhyut, Dhalkut, Shalim and the Hallaniyat Islands, ensuring comprehensive coverage across Dhofar.

Dr Baawain noted that the projects are being implemented according to a defined timetable and approved technical standards, taking into account public safety requirements and infrastructure sustainability to deliver optimal operational and service performance.
