ISWK students shine at CBSE National Championships in Athletics, Boxing, Cricket, and more

At the CBSE Athletics National Meet held at Sant Atulanand Convent School, Varanasi (U.P.), with over 2,500 participants from across India and the Gulf, the ISWK Under-19 Boys’ team delivered an outstanding performance.

MUSCAT : Students of Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir (ISWK) have once again proven their mettle by achieving remarkable success at the prestigious CBSE National Championships in Athletics, Boxing, Cricket, Yoga, and Chess. With grit, dedication, and excellence, our young champions brought laurels to the school, standing tall among the finest student athletes from India and the Gulf.

At the CBSE Athletics National Meet held at Sant Atulanand Convent School, Varanasi (U.P.), with over 2,500 participants from across India and the Gulf, the ISWK Under-19 Boys’ team delivered an outstanding performance. Guided by Coach Mr. Vikas Dhokne, the team clinched the silver medal in the 4x100m Relay and the bronze medal in the 4x400m Relay. The medal-winning athletes were Syed Mahmood, Johan Jeese Nalpat, Jason Samuel Antao, Aditya Hegde, and Aldrine Paul Shaiju.

In the CBSE Boxing National Championship, held at SD Sr Sec School, Haryana, Mohammed Sadiq secured a bronze medal in the 56–60 kg category (Under-19 Boys), adding another proud moment for ISWK.

For the first time, CBSE organized the National T20 Cricket Tournament, with ISWK having the honour of hosting the Oman selection trials across Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19 (Boys & Girls) categories. The selected teams represented Oman at the Nationals held at Aster Public School, Greater Noida (U.P.). Competing against some of India’s finest CBSE cricketers, ISWK players made a strong mark. In the Under-19 Boys’ category, five ISWK students—Kavish Shah, Jinansh Damani, Arsh Jawed, Huzefa Shah, and Aseel Mohamed—were part of the squad that won the silver medal. In the Under-14 Boys’ category, four ISWK students—Ashbel Burboz, Harsh Narendra, Amogh Shimpi, and Vivaan Anchan—secured the bronze medal, under the guidance of Coach Mr. Nitish Raikar.

Adding to these laurels, Ahana Goswami of Grade 6 earned 4th position in Rhythmic Yoga at the event hosted by Asha Modern International School, Saharanpur (U.P.), a remarkable feat at her young age that reflects her dedication and passion for yoga.

The ISWK Under-17 Girls’ Chess Team, comprising Malavika, Avantika, Aishwarya, and Dakshita, also excelled at the Nationals held at MDS Public School, Udaipur (Rajasthan). With sharp strategies and unwavering focus, they secured 6th position in the All-India ranking, showcasing their intellectual strength and perseverance.

Beyond the medals, these championships provided Oman’s young athletes invaluable exposure, testing their skills against India’s best school-level players and proving that Oman-based Indian schools can excel on national platforms.

The School Management Committee, Principal, Vice Principals, AVPs, staff members, and parents of ISWK applauded the students’ outstanding achievements and extended their best wishes for continued success in the future.
