MUSCAT : Indian School Darsait solemnly celebrated the Investiture Ceremony of its Student Council for the Academic Year 2026–27 on Thursday, 7 May 2026, in the Senior School Auditorium. The prestigious occasion marked the formal induction of the newly elected student leaders, who pledged to uphold the cherished values and proud traditions of the institution with sincerity, commitment, and a deep sense of responsibility.

The ceremony commenced on a graceful note with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Colonel Nathan Mann, Senior Defense Official / Defense Attaché, Embassy of the United States of America in Oman, whose esteemed presence added grandeur to the occasion. Mr. Mirza, Vice Principal Senior, warmly welcomed the Chief Guest and the august gathering, which included Mr. Shalimar Moideen, President, School Management Committee, members of the School Management Committee, school administrators, staff members, parents, and students.

A major highlight of the event was the announcement of the newly appointed student leaders by the Principal and the respective House Counsellors, followed by the solemn oath-taking ceremony. Administering the pledge, the Principal exhorted the young leaders to uphold honesty, integrity, and dedication in the discharge of their duties, inspiring them to serve as worthy ambassadors of the school.

In a proud and symbolic moment, the Chief Guest, accompanied by the President, SMC, and the Principal, ceremonially adorned the Ceremonial Heads, House Coordinators, Captains, and Vice Captains with badges and sashes, formally entrusting them with the mantle of leadership. The Vice Principals conferred badges and sashes upon the general prefects while the house counsellors bestowed the same upon the House Prefects, completing the investiture with grace and honour.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest reminded the young leaders that true leadership lies in placing people before self and serving others with humility, compassion, and sincerity. Emphasising forgiveness, kindness, and strong values, he noted that character shines brighter than accomplishments and that compassion paves the way to lasting success. He also shared reflections from his own life journey, acknowledging the unwavering support of his parents and teachers in shaping his path.

Mr. Shalimar Moideen, President, SMC, congratulated the budding leaders of ISD and reminded them that true leadership is rooted in humility, responsibility, and selfless service. He urged them to uphold integrity, strive each day to become better than before, and become agents of positive change within the school and the wider community. Emphasizing communication, consistency, and perseverance, he encouraged them to earn the trust of their peers through exemplary conduct. He also called upon them to live in a manner that would make their parents, teachers, and the nation proud.

Representing the Student Council, Aaryan Pradeep, the Head Boy delivered the acceptance speech, expressing heartfelt gratitude for the trust reposed in the newly elected council and reaffirming their commitment to serve the institution with dedication and sincerity. The ceremony concluded with a gracious Vote of Thanks proposed by Nakshatra Rajeshkumar, the Head Girl, while the school choir added grace and splendour to the occasion with melodious and inspirational songs.
