MUSCAT : Indian School Darsait celebrated the remarkable achievements of its academic achievers at the Academic Excellence Award Ceremony 2026, held on Thursday, 6 August 2026, in the Senior School Auditorium. The prestigious ceremony recognised the outstanding performance of students and reaffirmed the school’s continued commitment to promoting academic excellence and nurturing future leaders.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Ms. Kawthar Bint Khalifa Bin Khamas Al Sulaimani, Assistant Director, Department of International Schools Affairs, Ministry of Education, Sultanate of Oman, as the Chief Guest. The occasion was further honoured by the presence of Mr. Hamad Bin Khalfan Al Wahaibi, Member of the Municipal Council, Governorate of Muscat, Wilayat of Muttrah, and Mr. Syed Ahmad Salman, Chairman, Board of Directors, Indian Schools Oman, as the Guests of Honour.

The programme commenced with the Royal Anthem of Oman and the National Anthem of India, followed by the invocation dance “Vande Vagdevata” and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Gianna Luisa Joy, Cultural Secretary of the Student Council, extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, Guests of Honour, dignitaries, award recipients, parents, and invitees.
Delivering the Presidential Address, Mr. Shalimar Moideen, President of the School Management Committee, appreciated the unwavering dedication of teachers and highlighted the vital role of parents as the first and most influential mentors in a child’s life. He emphasised that the combined efforts of teachers and parents in providing guidance, encouragement, and support are instrumental in shaping responsible and successful citizens. Addressing the students, he encouraged them to uphold the values of hard work, perseverance, dedication, and integrity, which serve as the foundation for lifelong success.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest, Ms. Kawthar Bint Khalifa Bin Khamas Al Sulaimani, fondly recalled her experience as a teacher and expressed her heartfelt appreciation to teachers and parents for their unwavering dedication and invaluable contribution towards shaping the lives and future of students.
The highlight of the ceremony was the felicitation of the school’s outstanding achievers from Classes III to XII, including CBSE Class X and XII School toppers, National Subject Toppers, Subject Toppers, and students who secured A1 grades in all subjects. Teachers were also honoured for their exceptional commitment and contribution towards student achievement.
Adding vibrancy to the celebration, the School Choir presented a stirring motivational performance that inspired students to continue striving for excellence. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Ragul Rajkumar, HSE Secretary.
This was followed by an engaging interaction between Mr. Syed Ahmad Salman, the Chairman, Board of Directors, Indian Schools Oman, and the students and teachers. He congratulated the students, particularly the award recipients, on their remarkable achievements and encouraged them to sustain their momentum and strive for even greater accolades in the future. Interacting with the teachers, Mr. Syed Ahmad Salman, the Chairman emphasized the importance of providing every child with equal opportunities to participate in school activities and discover their true potential. He also urged teachers to move beyond conventional, book-based learning and embrace competency-based teaching to foster critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and essential real-life skills among students.
Dr. Surendra Swami, Director, Board of Directors and Director-in-Charge, Indian School Darsait also encouraged teachers to reach out to every child with care, empathy, and understanding, citing the life of Anna Hazare as an inspiring example of selfless service, perseverance, and integrity.
Overall, the Academic Excellence Award Ceremony 2026 was a fitting celebration of merit, perseverance, and achievement, inspiring students to aim higher and pursue their journey towards greater excellence.
