MUSCAT – The case originated when a consumer signed a contract with a company specializing in contracting, building materials, and decoration works in Muscat to supply cement products. Despite full payment, the company delayed the delivery of the agreed-upon items.
In response, the consumer filed a complaint with the Authority, which promptly took action through its specialists. After investigating the case and engaging with the company, the CPA facilitated an amicable settlement, resulting in a full refund of the amount paid.
The Authority affirmed that this action reflects its commitment to protecting consumers from commercial fraud and ensuring the quality of products and services in the local market. It also stressed the importance of suppliers adhering to approved technical requirements and standards. Furthermore, the Authority urged all consumers to report any violations through its official channels, reaffirming that consumer rights are a top priority and that its inspection teams are always ready to address any violations that infringe upon consumers’ rights or put them at risk.
