MUSCAT – Oman’s Public Prosecutor, His Excellency Nasser Al-Sawaei, said on Monday that citizens are free to express their opinions as long as they remain within the boundaries of the law, warning that those who cross legal limits will be held accountable.
Speaking at the annual media meeting of the Public Prosecution, Al-Sawaei said the authorities do not object to the expression of views, provided such opinions do not violate the law or provoke legal consequences.
“We do not mind if you express your opinion, as long as your opinion does not exceed the boundaries of the law,” he said. “Anyone who exceeds those boundaries and interacts in a way that provokes the displeasure of the law will be held accountable.”
