MUSCAT : Indian Navy warship INS Imphal marked India’s 80th Independence Day while on a port call in Muscat, highlighting the longstanding maritime ties between India and Oman.

The Indian Tricolour was flown aboard the warship as India celebrated Independence Day on Saturday, August 15.

India’s Ambassador to Oman, H.E. Prashant Pise, visited INS Imphal during its stay in Muscat and congratulated the ship’s crew on the occasion.

Members of the warship’s crew also participated in the Independence Day flag-hoisting ceremony held at the Embassy of India in Muscat.

The Embassy said the presence of INS Imphal in Oman during the celebrations reflected the enduring friendship between India and Oman and the close maritime cooperation between the two countries.
