ISG student, Nitishsai Harinath makes history with National Gold

Nitishsai Harinath made history as the first swimmer from Oman to win a National Gold Medal, triumphing at the 51st Junior National Aquatic Championships 2025.

MUSCAT: At the 51 st Junior National Aquatic Championships 2025, Nitishsai Harinath proudly represented
Tamil Nadu in all five events, clinching gold in the 50m Freestyle, silver in the 50m Butterfly and
4x100m Freestyle Relay and bronze in 4x100m Medley Relay and 4x200m Freestyle Relay.

This victory marks his first-ever National Gold Medal, making him the first swimmer from Oman to
achieve such a feat.


Nitishsai’s journey to the Nationals began at the Tamil Nadu state selection meet, where his
exceptional talent shone through. He claimed 4 gold medals and 1 silver, breaking two state
records in the 50m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly.

These victories secured his spot in the TamilNadu team, paving the way for his historic success at the National level.


With a strong showing in the 50m events this year, Nitishsai’s focus for next season will be on
excelling in both the 50m and 100m, aiming for even greater achievements on the National
stage.
