MUSCAT : In a historic moment for education in the region, ISG International proudly hosted Oman’s first-ever TED-Ed event on Wednesday, 28 May 2025—marking a significant milestone as the only TED-Ed School in the country.

The event, a celebration of student voice and intellectual curiosity, included 34 passionate learners who embarked on a transformative TED-Ed journey. These students were not merely participants—they were pioneers, representing a new wave of youth leadership and expression.

Over the course of several weeks, they engaged in brainstorming sessions, peer reviews, and personal reflections, shaping raw thoughts into powerful ideas. After this rigorous process of mentoring and preparation, 10 outstanding student speakers took the stage to share ideas worth spreading, developed through storytelling, personal insight, and critical thinking.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mrs. Nisham Rayees, renowned public speaker, broadcaster at Oman FM, and an active voice in the field of education. Also present wereMr. Ahmed Rayees, President of the ISG School Management Committee, Mr. Sunil Kattakath, Convenor, Mrs. Papri Ghosh, Principal of ISG, along with an audience of proud parents, faculty members, and well-wishers.

The program began with a warm welcome address byMrs. Pyarija Cidar, Vice Principal, ISG International, who highlighted the significance of this initiative and the school’s ongoing commitment to nurturing student expression.

The TED-Ed platform at ISG International is more than a public speaking program—it is an intellectual journey. Students were guided not just to speak, but tothink deeply, reflect meaningfully, and articulate boldly. This was made possible by the dedicated efforts of the English Department, whose faculty served as mentors, coaches, and unwavering supporters throughout the process.

The young speakers who captivated the audience with their unique perspectives areHrithik Sunilkumar, Keyanna Ann James, Mehreen Fatima Bhamla, Aradhana Rachel Roy, Jaden Lazarus Stephen, Ayaana Zakkir Hussain, Aliyah Chopra, Vivaan Gupta and Reuben Thomas John.Their presentations were not only intellectually engaging but emotionally compelling, as they spoke from the heart with confidence, clarity, and conviction. The authenticity of their messages and the courage to share personal experiences left a lasting impression on everyone present.

This landmark event stands as a testament to the vision of ISG International, its supportive leadership, and the close-knit ISG community that believes in empowering students to be thinkers, communicators, and changemakers. With this successful event, ISG International has not just created history—it has paved the way for many more young voices to be heard.
