Muscat: The new framework addresses noise pollution from projects that disrupt public well-being, setting clear guidelines and penalties to enforce compliance.

The regulations, introduced under the Environmental Protection and Pollution Control Law, provide detailed provisions to curb noise levels across various zones, including residential, tourist, recreational, commercial, and industrial areas. Limits have also been set for noise on the sides of main and express roads.

To ensure effective implementation, the regulation outlines the obligations of project owners and technical requirements for monitoring noise levels. Administrative penalties are also detailed, emphasizing the importance of adherence to these standards.

Comprising three articles, the regulation mandates the enforcement of these provisions, aiming to create a healthier and more sustainable public environment.
