MUSCAT: Over 4,600 people have been quarantined in Oman so far, according to His Excellency Dr. Muhammad bin Saif Al Hosni, Undersecretary of Ministry of Health (MOH) for Health Affairs.
Speaking in an interview with Oman TV, Al Hosni said more than half of the people quarantined has been discharged. “We are transparent with regard to the number of cases that has been reported so far. We had conducted more than 640 laboratory examinations and only 20 of the cases has been tested positive of coronavirus,” Al Hosni said.

Al Hosni said the decision to suspend study in schools and colleges was taken to limit the spread of coronavirus among the population.
“Coronavirus is more dangerous than seasonal influenza and must be taken seriously by everyone in society,” he added.
