MUSCAT: Oman’s Ministry of Health has laid the foundation stone for the National Centre for Genome and Human Data, known as the Omani Genome project, with construction costs exceeding RO 4.2 million, the Oman News Agency reported.
The centre will be built in Seeb, in Muscat governorate, on a site covering more than 10,000 square metres. Construction is expected to take nine months, the agency said.
The foundation stone ceremony marks the start of construction work on the national facility.
