MUSCAT: This comes within the framework of continuing the development of the judicial system in the Sultanate of Oman, and in alignment with the targets of “Oman Vision 2040” in building an effective legislative and judicial system, enhancing an independent and specialized judiciary, and qualifying specialized national cadres.

Taking the legal oath comes in application of Article (11) of the Public Prosecution Law issued by Royal Decree No. 92/99, signalling the commencement of their judicial duties and undertaking their responsibilities in applying the provisions of the law, initiating public actions, and safeguarding rights and freedoms, in a manner that reinforces the rule of law and contributes to achieving prompt justice.

Members of the “Jadara” batch completed the academic and practical qualification requirements through the Postgraduate Diploma Program in Judicial Sciences at the High Judicial Institute, alongside practical training in the geographic and specialized departments of the Public Prosecution, pursuant to Article 10 of the Public Prosecution Law, which requires passing the prescribed training for a period of not less than two years, contributing to enhancing their legal and judicial knowledge and refining their practical skills.

Following the swearing-in ceremony, the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Judiciary Council met with members of the batch and congratulated them on this occasion, emphasizing the importance of exhibiting integrity, impartiality, and independence, and adhering to judicial work ethics as well as the laws and regulations governing the work of the Public Prosecution.

He also urged them to pursue continuous learning and professional development, utilize modern technologies, maintain proper engagement with litigants in a manner that safeguards their rights and dignity, adhere to the values, customs, and traditions of the judiciary, and exert efforts in fulfilling the mission of the Public Prosecution to consolidate the rule of law and achieve prompt justice.
