MUSCAT : The ministry’s Directorate General of Agriculture and Water Resources in Al Dhahirah said beekeepers from outside the governorate must secure the necessary permits before moving their hives to the governorate and obtain approval from the department responsible for the area where the hives will be placed.
Beekeepers already operating within Al Dhahirah who wish to move their hives between wilayats are required to notify the receiving department in writing.
The notification must include the location, geographical coordinates and number of hives being transported.
The ministry urged beekeepers and others involved in honeybee breeding and hive transportation to comply with the procedures and conditions set out in regulations governing the movement of bee colonies between governorates and wilayats.
