MUSCAT : The meeting aimed to introduce Omani businesspeople, and companies to the opportunities available in the US market, and to enhance their benefit from the services provided by Oman Commercial Office in the United States of America (USA), in a manner that supports their approaches toward expanding into international markets and building commercial relations with partners in the USA.

The meeting comes within the Chamber’s efforts to enhance the presence of Omani products and services in global markets, enable national companies to benefit from available trade agreements and export opportunities, and raise their readiness to expand into the US market.

Mohammed Hamoud Al Abri, Director General of the Center for Research and Studies at Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, pointed out that the Chamber undertakes an important role in supporting Omani companies, expanding their presence in international markets, enhancing commercial relations, and identifying new opportunities in trade and investment, as the US market is an important market for Omani companies.

He clarified that the meeting aims to present practical insights on ways to better understand and access the US market, including through the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the Sultanate of Oman and the United States, government contracting opportunities, and services provided by Oman Commercial Office.

He explained that the Chamber established the Oman Commercial Office to serve as a link between Omani companies and the opportunities available in the US market, while the Chamber’s role consists of facilitating this communication, identifying the needs of the private sector, and supporting companies in transforming these opportunities into tangible commercial outcomes and results.

The meeting reviewed the services of Oman Commercial Office in the United States of America and its role in supporting Omani companies wishing to enter the US market, alongside introducing the benefits and opportunities provided by the Free Trade Agreement between the two countries, and reviewing the opportunities available to Omani companies in the field of US government contracting.

The meeting also included reviewing a success story of a company and providing an opportunity for networking and building commercial relations, alongside holding bilateral meetings with representatives of Oman Commercial Office in the United States of America to discuss the needs of companies and answer their inquiries regarding access to the US market.
