MUSCAT: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a telephone call with Oman’s Foreign Minister His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi on Tuesday, as diplomatic efforts intensify amid escalating tensions in the region.
During the call, the two ministers discussed the latest regional developments and the rapidly evolving situation, according to the Oman News Agency.
They exchanged views on efforts aimed at reducing tensions, containing their repercussions and creating conditions for continued diplomatic engagement to address outstanding issues and support regional security and stability.

The discussions also covered a number of regional files and other issues of mutual interest.
On Oman-US relations, Rubio and Sayyid Badr reaffirmed the importance of building on existing cooperation and advancing shared interests.
They also stressed the need to maintain consultation and coordination through communication channels between Muscat and Washington, while supporting efforts aimed at strengthening security and stability at the regional and international levels.
