MUSCAT: The Arabian Stories (TAS) has announced the second edition of the Banking & Technology Summit (BTS), which will take place on December 5, 2026, bringing together leaders from the banking, financial services and technology sectors to discuss the rapidly evolving future of the industry.

Building on the inaugural edition, Banking & Technology Summit 2026 will be held under the theme “Redefining Banking in the AI Era”, placing artificial intelligence and its growing influence on the financial sector at the centre of this year’s conversations.

The summit will bring together senior banking executives, regulators, technology leaders, fintech innovators and industry stakeholders to examine how AI and emerging technologies are reshaping the way banks operate, engage with customers, manage risk and compete in an increasingly digital financial environment.

Discussions will focus on artificial intelligence and automation, digital banking and customer experience, fintech and open banking, cybersecurity and digital trust, payments and digital commerce, cloud and data analytics, emerging technologies, and regulation and responsible AI.

Nishad Padiyarath, CEO of TAS Media Group, said the second edition comes at a defining moment for the banking industry as artificial intelligence moves rapidly from experimentation to real-world implementation.

“AI is no longer a conversation about what banking could look like in the future. It is already changing how banks operate, how customers interact with financial institutions and how decisions are made. That is why we chose ‘Redefining Banking in the AI Era’ as the theme for the second edition,” Nishad said.

“The Banking & Technology Summit was created to connect the people leading banking with those building the technologies transforming it. For banks, being part of this conversation is increasingly important. The next phase of banking will be shaped not simply by digitalisation, but by how effectively institutions embrace AI and emerging technologies while protecting security, trust and responsible governance,” he added.

Nishad said the second edition would build on the foundation established by the inaugural summit, with a stronger focus on the technologies and ideas that are redefining financial services.

BTS 2026 will feature keynote addresses, leadership conversations and panel discussions, while providing participating organisations with opportunities for thought leadership, strategic networking and engagement with decision-makers from across the banking and technology ecosystem.
