MUSCAT – The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology said the project is progressing ahead of schedule.
The project involves the rehabilitation of the road section extending from the Sharqiyah Interchange to the Farq Interchange, with the aim of improving road conditions, repairing damaged sections, enhancing traffic safety features, and increasing the road’s operational efficiency to meet current traffic demands.
With a cost of more than RO 10 million, the project includes upgrading road components and implementing engineering solutions designed to improve service levels and ensure the long-term performance of the route.
Modern technologies are being applied as part of the rehabilitation works, including the use of geo-grid technology, which helps strengthen pavement layers, improve durability, and extend the lifespan of the road surface in line with approved engineering standards.
Once completed, the project is expected to enhance connectivity between the wilayats of Al Dakhiliyah Governorate and neighbouring governorates, improve traffic flow, and raise road safety standards.
