MUSCAT – The hospital said the new procedure will help reduce waiting times and provide a safe and effective treatment option for patients requiring peritoneal dialysis, while improving the use and efficiency of medical resources.
The catheter insertion service is performed using interventional radiology techniques, allowing the procedure to be carried out with minimal intervention compared with traditional surgical methods.
The Royal Hospital said the introduction of the service supports the Ministry of Health’s efforts to enhance healthcare services, develop specialised medical procedures, and improve patient care across the Sultanate.
