Muscat: Oman’s Foreign Minister His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, held separate telephone conversations on Saturday with his counterparts from Egypt, Mauritania and Saudi Arabia as part of ongoing consultations on regional developments and efforts to preserve peace and stability.
In a call with Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad, H.E. Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, the two ministers reviewed the latest developments in the region and discussed diplomatic initiatives aimed at containing tensions and creating conditions for renewed dialogue and broader political understanding.
The discussions also focused on ensuring the security of maritime routes and maintaining the uninterrupted flow of global trade and energy through the Strait of Hormuz and other vital international waterways. Both sides stressed the importance of continued coordination between the two countries and reaffirmed their support for political and peaceful solutions to regional challenges.

In a separate telephone conversation, Mauritania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, conveyed his country’s appreciation for Oman’s balanced foreign policy and the role of its leadership in promoting regional security, peace and constructive cooperation.
The Mauritanian minister also expressed his country’s pride in its brotherly relations with Oman and its commitment to expanding cooperation across various sectors. In response, Al Busaidi reaffirmed Oman’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and advancing cooperation in ways that serve the common interests of both nations.
Meanwhile, during a telephone call with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud, the two ministers exchanged views on regional developments, with particular emphasis on navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
Both sides reaffirmed their support for all efforts aimed at ensuring freedom of navigation, maritime security and regional stability, while underscoring the importance of adherence to international law and respect for the sovereignty of states.
