MUSCAT : The initiative is part of seasonal facilitation measures linked to the annual monsoon tourism period in Dhofar Governorate, which attracts large numbers of visitors to the region’s natural and cultural attractions.
According to the ROP, applications for the commemorative plates can be submitted through service centres, the official Royal Oman Police website, and the ROP mobile application.
The special plates will be valid from June 1 until December 31, 2026, covering the full duration of the Khareef tourism season and associated activities in southern Oman.
The ROP clarified that the commemorative plates will carry the same vehicle registration number and remain subject to all existing vehicle registration laws and insurance requirements in the Sultanate.
