MUSCAT : Oman’s Nama Power and Water Procurement Company (Nama PWP) and O-Green signed an agreement on Sunday for a major round-the-clock renewable energy project combining wind power, solar energy and battery energy storage systems (BESS) in the wilayats of Mahout and Duqm.

The integrated renewable energy project will have a total installed capacity of 2.7 gigawatts.

The project combines wind and solar power generation with battery storage systems to ensure stable electricity supply and support Oman’s growing clean energy ambitions.

Mahout and Duqm, located along Oman’s central and southeastern coast, have emerged as key locations for renewable energy and industrial projects due to strong wind resources, high solar exposure and proximity to major economic and industrial zones.
